With the 2016 election going on, it’s nearly impossible not to ignore the hundreds of thousands negative social posts on Donald Trump. Right?
Well, with that said, one of the negative posts that went viral recently is an open-letter.
User @shewhovotes took it to Twitter to write to Nordstrom, asking the department store to stop selling the presidential candidate’s daughter’s brand Ivanka Trump.
Within the letter, user @shewhovotes expresses her love for the store and reveals that she is a “Level 4 cardholder” and even used to work as a vendor in stores.
With that, she carries on to say:
“I find myself increasingly conflicted about supporting a store that carries any Trump brands.”
Ivanka continues to support her father’s hate speech and sexual assault allegations and Nordstrom continues to defend her.
@shewhovotes also points out that Ivanka’s company refuses to provide maternity leave for their female workers and also has their employees working in sweatshop conditions.
The open letter urged people to share and used #grabyourwallets.
Ivanka took it to Good Morning America to explain everything.
When asked what she would like to say about women wanting to boycott her brand, she responded with:
“The beauty of America is people can do what they like, but I prefer to talk to the millions, tens of millions of American women who are inspired by the brand and the message that I’ve created.” I never politicized that message. People who are seeking to politicize it because they may disagree with the politics of my father, there’s nothing I can do to change that.”
